ONLINE BOOKING SYSTEM IN BORACAY
My decision to relocate in Boracay Island, Philippines last January 2008 about five months ago was because I felt responsible to do something to uplift the Filipinos’ negative tour guide experience. As writer of Boracay Times newspaper , I discovered a lot of not so good tour guide experience in the island.
However, there were also oppression to Filipino workers and tour guides by some Foreign immigrants taking advantage of our poverty. The weakest person cannot do anything of their situation. No food to eat, nothing to buy and support their needs. What a pity. Our fellow Filipino suffer in their own homeland working more than eight hours a day and paid 2,500 pesos a month? I was shocked to know the low salaries and wages given by foreign Resort owners but the workers are helpless. They need to sacrifice or else their family gonna die of hunger.
True enough , most Filipino native of Boracay became slaves of their own territory serving the Foreigners owning huge properties in Boracay. What happen to our system? Most foreign guest explain that some tour guides, tricycle drivers took advantage by charging guest too high. Why? I discovered that, it’s because Filipino workers like boat men, tricycle drivers, waiters and workers wanted to get even and survived.So, they charged tourist double and some even triple the price.Well, can we blame them? They have nothing to eat, no one to help. Nothing…For me, We cannot blame them because there’s no government livelihood projects for them to maximize their strengths or no training institution training tour guides about professionalism of handling guest.
As per record, approximate of 70% of Hotel & Resorts owners were Foreigner’s having Filipino’s like servant’s , workers and some like slaves.I felt bad about the idea of being a slave of your own country and getting the lowest regard and respect because of lack of government support as far as getting the capital on small and medium scale business enterprise. But, these people are bound to work for them for survival.
With that scenario , I felt the need to help in my own little way to uplift the Filipinos impression in the field of tourist service. As a start we establish boracaystations dot com to provide the best online booking website that caters to all nationalities coming to Boracay. Not only that we will provide an ultimate travel experience but we will also create jobs to the locals here. We plan to train and equip tour guides with professionalism as we expand and generate bigger opportunities to any hardworking Filipinos. We intend to optimize full service booking system to provide income opportunities that can uplift the lives of some skilled Filipinos.
Using our fully equipped high skilled manpower and million dollar worth laptop memory we are sure to beat the negative impression to Filipinos in Boracay. Giving them the right training and teaching them the technology can uplift their moral values. My partners and best friends; Arelle, Paul B., Madame Beth, Sir Boy are truly determined to help our “kababayan” earn the decent way. We gonna equipped tour guides with the skills.Right now our team, Shane, Tina , Richie and Mark are excited to handle the responsibilities. In fact we are happy to share our expertise just to uplift Boracay.
