My last stop will be Barcelona, Spain. The place best for lovers because it’s a quiet and convenient. Barcelona hotels are excellent, real getaway for travelers. Its romantic scenery makes it breathtaking and truly unforgettable. Discovering the cultural values, the historical background as well as educational lessons gained from traveling is for me the best tip I’ll treasure for the rest of my life. The joy, the peace, tranquility, happiness, relaxation and fun is immeasurable.

In 1989 at age 20 after graduation, I worked as a teacher in a private school in Cebu City, Philippines. It was the first job I’ve done after school and I thought I was lucky enough that I was hired. A noble profession indeed. A dignified career but a low income job considering the heavy loads to handle like; preparing a lesson plan, checking the test papers, computing the grades , training students during programs and more extra loads of work.I’ve done it for three years of my life.

Too tiring! Yet income is not enough. That encouraged me to do some part time jobs. Very challenging because time management is needed to balance both teaching profession and part time jobs. As I believed, nothing is impossible when you have the burning desire to earn extra income. So, I’ve done tutorial service to students, training and the most exciting of it all is selling. Yes! A teacher and an entrepreneur rolled into one.

Exactly the same as most of the teachers in the Philippines have been doing. Teaching and selling to augment income. For me it was my best training ground. My backboned in sales and business. I’ve done selling beauty products like Avon, Playtex, and herway, consumer products like Tupperware, health & wellness like high desert. But the most exciting for me was the insurance policies. It was my first time to learn that insurance policies are important. It’s not an expense but savings.

Hence, if we save money on insurance it’s never a waste of money but a preparation for the future. Sounds interesting because most Filipinos are not well educated or well-informed about acquiring an insurance policy. Earning unlimited is always our dream. How to get there when we are working as an employee that is the question. In the corporate world we are committed to tender the best effort .We normally does everything to finish all assigned tasks. We are content attending to corporate meetings, planning and doing our best to provide the best service. Yes we do everything but, life in the corporate world is not that financially rewarding. We spend more than half of our day racing to do the best of what is expected in us.

I remember when I was working as an employee in the corporate world, I woke up 5 AM to rush up for a 9 AM work then go home late at 11 PM. Sometimes when there were events like conventions, meetings with clients or seminars, I’ve been at home at dawn 2AM and even 4AM. Compute how many hours I slept? And how many hours I am at home? Less than 6 hours? My God! What a life for almost 8 years. True. Sometimes when I need to travel to do some out of town tasked, for 24 hours I got no sleep. Yes!!! But God is gracious because I am alive and I survived. Truly disgusting because in spite of that hard work it’s not financially rewarding. What a pity? The truth is we can never be presidents or owners of the company. We will never receive more than enough salaries and wages. It’s always fixed and even limited to pay our credit cards, loans, debts and needs. But why we need to do that? Yes, we need to do that in order to live. So, we have to be contented being an employee for the rest of our lives and miss out the blessings and the opportunities plan by God ahead of us.

Truly challenging. In fact we need to maximize what we are doing because we are left out with no choice. We need to survive and be contented on the 15/30 or 5/20 paydays. What a life?
